Baked goods industry

Slaughterhouse industry
The demand for conveyor systems in abattoirs has traditionally been very high. Hygiene requirements are particularly important here. In addition, the focus is on operational efficiency and the associated durability. KÖBO manufactures a wide range of chains for this sector, e.g. cardan chains, universal joint chains, link chains and forged chains for overhead conveyors. Depending on the application, these can be galvanised or made from stainless steel.
Steriliser industry
Chains used in the steriliser industry must meet stringent requirements within sterilisers: corrosive media and high temperatures push them to their absolute limits. This is because the martensitic stainless steel we use, in combination with the bronze bushings employed as high-quality sliding partners in the chain links, withstands the most extreme loads and meets the highest standards. Trough conveyor chains are used in a variety of applications and sectors, but primarily in the food industry. KÖBO trough conveyor chains are based on the DIN 8165 and DIN 8167 standards. For specialised conveyor systems, the components and material specifications are selected according to the requirements of the conveyor and the material being conveyed. These include single-sided designs in welded or curved versions, as well as double-strand trough conveyor chains with bolted centre bars.
Bottle cleaning lines
The use of returnable bottles has grown in importance in recent years. KÖBO is making a significant contribution in this area: our conveyor chains are used in bottle washing systems for cleaning PET or glass bottles. We are aware that, during the cleaning process, the conveyor chain comes into contact with various liquids and alkalis, as well as abrasive elements such as broken glass, dust, sand, etc.; for this reason, we use high-strength materials and, where necessary, corrosion-resistant stainless steel.
