Indoor and outdoor applications, as well as unusual solutions involving changes in speed, are part of our experts’ day-to-day work. As a leading international supplier of escalator chains, KÖBO has been working for many years with the operators and manufacturers of the London Underground, the metro systems in Paris, Vienna and Budapest, as well as numerous airports both at home and abroad. Other notable references include the metro systems in Moscow, Prague, Madrid, Munich and Bonn.

The record-breaking escalator climbs a height of 21.43 metres. If the installation were inclined at the same angle as standard escalators, the vertical rise would be just under 40 metres. In 2008, KONE took on this special project and found a partner in Chain People from Wuppertal, a company with the necessary expertise and experience to tackle such a visionary project.
